BIOGRAPHIES OF CANDIDATES
TONY R. FORBES - UNIT #1703
Tony, whose education includes architectural instruction, engineering instruction and architectural designing instruction, has owned and successfully operated a residential and commercial construction business for 26 years. With this broad range of construction knowledge, he believes he can bring an experienced perspective from a builder's point of view to the Board of Directors. He also has access to many subcontractors and companies that may be used to help improve and maintain the building. Tony has vast experience in financial matters concerning large projects. He has served on a number of boards and committees including being a township supervisor for six years, serving as President and Vice President on a Christian school board and serving as a Church deacon for nine years. In addition, he is still actively serving on the Church building committee and Church finance committee. He has spent 11 years going on missionary tours of other countries to help build churches and schools. If elected, Tony will work to maintain the invested interests of all unit owners in continuing the upkeep needed to the building and in controlling the finances of the Plaza.
EUGENE LEW - UNIT #1602
Gene has been a Plaza unit owner for approximately 10 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of New York and has done Masters of Science work in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He has spent his entire professional career developing the Internet (Verizon FIOS, Comcast Hi-Speed and Time Warner Road Runner) and other hi-tech products as DirecTV, starting as a college intern with the Department of Defense in 1979 where he performed research on the predecessor to the Internet, ARPANET. Gene has served on other Boards for homeowners associations and was appointed to the Plaza's Board of Directors in May 2007. In addition to assisting the Plaza's Board in the evaluation and contract negotiation for the DirecTV satellite service, he developed and continues to maintain the Plaza's website. Gene believes that his background will be an asset to the Plaza in keeping up with technological advances.
ROBERT E. PRICE - UNIT #1209
Bob is the original owner of his unit and has served on the Board of Directors for 10 years. He is semi-retired from his position of owner and CEO of ThermoKing Transport Refrigeration. His 48 years of experience include 10 years as manager of a steel company and 35 years starting and expanding his business. As a member of the Plaza's Board of Directors, Bob has been an instrumental part of many key projects such as the manager's office and conference room, the tiki hut and the Plaza sign. One of his main concerns is the prevention of water leaks through proactive measures. Bob believes that his desire to maintain the structural integrity and appearance of the building while maintaining operating costs are an asset to the Board. He will continue to strive for cost-effective measures in keeping the Plaza a premiere property.
